The taste of the sun

The climate means well with Uzbekistan, providing a special, incomparable flavour in its domestic agricultural products. This “taste of the sun” can be found, for example, in popular dried fruits such as raisins, apricots or prunes.

For importers in Europe, however, the 52 and more varieties of mountain herbs, the essential oils, liquorice extracts, seeds and roots are also of interest. The Uzbek government has invested hugely in promoting innovation and further development in this sector.

In the tourism sector, Uzbekistan has a lot to offer for travellers with a sense for adventure and discovery: Located on the ancient Silk Road, the country has more than 4,000 architectural sites and over 7,000 historic monuments. These include ancient cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Shahrisabz/Kesh, all of which are UNESCO world heritage sites.
